Travel around Myanmar
Though still a little rough around the edges, transportation network of Myanmar is continuing to improve. Getting around Myanmar is never less than captivating, along with tons of opportunities to interact with local people and take in the scenery. Although, land transport is, by and large, sluggish and unreliable; perhaps more than what most people would have experienced in any other country, Myanmar’s bus and railway networks allow travelers ingress to most popular destinations, and boats -basically on the Irrawaddy River that runs north-south through Myanmar, can be a wonderful way to get around. If you are on a tight schedule, the plane is usually the best choice – and for some places in border areas, it’s the only option since overland routes are closed to foreigners.
